Grease lightning: Edible Oil Manufacturing

Grease lightning: Edible Oil Mechanical Oil Press Machine

Mechanical oil press machine is a kind of oil extraction equipment that uses physical pressure to extract oil from oilseeds. It is suitable for processing various oilseeds, such as peanut/groundnut, soybean, sunflower seed, corn germ, palm kernel, copra, mustard, cottonseed, castor, sesame, and many more. This type of oil press machine has a production capacity ranging from 60-500kg/h, making it ideal for small to medium-sized oil processing plants.

Power and Staff

The mechanical oil press machine has a power capacity of 4.5kW, which is sufficient for the extraction of oil from different types of oilseeds. It requires only two staff members to operate and maintain, making it a cost-effective option for small-scale oil processing businesses.

Cold Pressed and Hot-Pressed Oil Production

There are two different methods of oil production using mechanical oil press machines: cold pressed and hot pressed. The final product produced using these two methods is completely different in terms of quality and properties.

Cold Pressing

Cold pressing is a method of oil extraction that involves extracting oil directly at room temperature without the need for frying. This results in a low acid value, and the oil products obtained after precipitation and filtration require no further refinement. The cold pressing method results in a lower oil yield and a higher sales price. The oil color is light, and the oil residue rate is higher, requiring extraction two to three times.

Hot Pressing

Hot pressing involves extracting oil at high temperatures by roasting the seeds before oil extraction. This method increases the acid value significantly and results in a loss of natural quality, requiring further refining to make it fit for consumption. The hot pressing method results in a higher oil yield, and the oil color is darker, requiring extraction only once.
